The
Rocket Welcomes Stockwin de Vere
Sanctuary Cove-based legal practice Stockwin
de Vere is planning a role in the development of CBDRobina, establishing an
office in the imposing new office building The Rocket.
The legal practice, headed by Chrysilla
Stockwin, focuses on business, commercial
and property law.
Stockwin de Vere opened its office in a
144 square metre suite on level 9 of the $110 million, 16-storey tower on
Monday (March 8).
The Rocket office is in addition to the
Sanctuary Cove facilities of the practice, established 17 years ago as
Summerton de Vere.
Stockwin de Vere Lawyers has taken a long
term lease with options over the premises in the tower, completed in December
and designed to serve as CBDRobina’s premier corporate address.
Ms Stockwin said partners recognised that
CBDRobina was developing as a significant commerce centre and was excited by
the opportunities it offered.
“For some time we had been considering a Gold
Coast CBD presence to tap the central-city market for the services we provide
and Robina had been very much in our sights,” said Ms Stockwin.
“CBDRobina is a fresh, new, well planned,
central-city business hub with outstanding train, bus and car access.
“This is great for clients and staff and
we have no doubt it has a huge future.
“Completion of The Rocket, a building of
the highest quality, coincided with an improvement in the economic outlook,
providing us with the right location at the right time.
“Stockwin de Vere Lawyers is a focused,
boutique practice with a reputation for offering the highest quality of service
in business, property and entertainment law.
“We believe we have a role to play in the
growth of CBDRobina, facilitating the movement of enterprises to the new
business hub.
“It is a very exciting time for us and we
are looking forward to a new environment, new opportunities and new
challenges.”
Stockwin de Vere Lawyers is one of two
legal practices to establish offices in The Rocket, which is also home to
Trilby Misso, a Brisbane-based personal-injury specialist.
Trilby Misso has leased a 72 metre space
on The Ground Floor of the tower for 5 years with options. The lease was
negotiated by Tania Moore of CB Richard Ellis.
The practice
also opened for business this month.
The move is
part of a wider expansion program that has seen Trilby Misso open service
centres at North Lakes and Morayfield in Brisbane’s north, with an office in
Ipswich scheduled to open in March.
The law firm
also has a presence in Gladstone, Queensland’s premier heavy-industry city.
Establishment of the Stockwin de Vere
Lawyers office follows that of Australiawide mortgage brokerage business Raine
and Horne Financial Services which has set up its national headquarters in The
Rocket.
The brokerage, the first corporate
enterprise to take up residence in the tower, opened the office doors two weeks
ago.
The business, associated with partners
Paul Newell and Gary Leese, operates from a 167 square metre space on Level 11
of the tower, Robina’s first high-rise building whose upper storeys afford
panoramic views of the Gold Coast City and the hinterland.
They take over from facilities in Brisbane
and Sydney and serve as the administration centre for the brokerage, which has
86 mortgage consultants throughout Australia.
Raine and Horne Financial Services provides
services to clients of real estate agency network Raine and Horne, associated
with Max Raine and son Angus.
The premises have been acquired for an
undisclosed sum from The Rocket’s developer Robina Projects Australia, the
company responsible for the A-grade CBDRobina office buildings, HQ @ Robina,
Eastside and Campus Alpha as well as the popular Easy T convenience shopping
and dining centre.
RPA General Manager Hylton Slater said Stockwin
de Vere’s decision to establish an office in The Rocket reflected the
confidence of its partners in the future of CBDRobina.
“The Rocket, a signature project for the
company, provides Stockwin de Vere with
a premier CBDRobina corporate address and corporate profile,” said Mr Slater.
“Stockwin de Vere Lawyers is a
long-established and respected legal practice and we are delighted that it has
chosen to make The Rocket its base.
“We have no doubt that The Rocket offers the
practice the best possible platform from which to pursue new business opportunities.”
“The Rocket is a visual icon on a trophy
waterfront site that offers some of the finest A-grade office space in Gold
Coast City and this is widely recognised by the business community,” he said.
The Rocket is sited on the corner of Laver
Drive and Robina Town Centre Drive and with neighbouring project The Wharf, two
eight-level buildings with 73 apartments above five ground-level commercial
spaces, forms an lifestyle precinct beside Lake Lido.
The tower provides 11,000 square metres of
office space above an 1800 square metre destination retail and dining precinct
with 14 spaces and has underground parking for 400 vehicles.
Retail precinct businesses include the
coffee shop and eatery Kaffiend, a Night Owl convenience store, O-Me-Ly
Vietnamese and Anatolia Kebabs.
The precinct also houses an office of
Robina Marketing Australia, which undertakes sales and leasing for The Rocket,
The Wharf.
Office spaces range from 90 square metres to
whole floorplates of 790 square metres.
Its retail precinct spaces range
from 88 square metres to 265 square metres
and businesses being sought for it include restaurants, espresso bar, a
fine wine outlet, cafes, day spa, hair salon, beautician, real estate office,
homeware outlet newsagent, bakery and delicatessen
The
Wharf’s ground-level commercial spaces range
from 85 square metres to 175 square metres.
Robina
Marketing Australia’s Marcus Weld
said The Rocket-Wharf precinct was unique in CBDRobina and had strong appeal to
businesses.
“The
lifestyle appeal of the precinct is gaining wide recognition and the office
tower is drawing significant inquiry,” said Mr Weld.
“The Rocket’s role as a
premier Gold Coast City corporate address is assured.”
